Exhibited Animals Public Consultation

The public consultation period for the draft Australian Animal Welfare Standards and Guidelines for Exhibited Animals ran from 24 March to 6 June 2014.

Views were sought from people and organisations interested in the welfare of exhibited animals. All submissions were considered before the Standards and Guidelines were finalised.

An associated consultation Regulation Impact Statement (RIS) was prepared. The statement identified the costs and benefits of protecting the welfare and security of exhibited animals, and addressed the need for standards.
