Land Transport of Livestock

Online Public Survey

Draft Australian Animal Welfare Standards
Land Transport of Livestock

Regulatory Impact Statement

This survey provides you with an alternative to writing your own submission: You can answer (some or all of) a set of questions asking for your opinion about whether the Draft Land Transport Standards adequately specify requirements for the transport of livestock on land.  You can also offer your views on whether the Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) has adequately identified the costs and benefits of the Land Transport Standards and demonstrated the need for these Standards.  Please note: the focus of this consultation process is limited to the land transport of livestock, and does not consider issues associated with the live export of livestock which are covered by a separate animal welfare standard.

Depending on your interests, you can choose to answer all or some of the questions in the survey.  Most of the questions ask you to provide a rating. There are also some options for providing additional comments – your submission will be of more value if you provide brief reasons for your particular ratings.  If you wish to write your own, more detailed submission -  there is a separate process for this.

All submissions (in survey and written form) will be considered public documents.

Please note: some questions at the beginning and end of the survey are mandatory, because that information is vitally important to helping DAFF and AHA evaluate the effectiveness of this public consultation process.

We have requested your name and details so you can be notified when a summary of the public consultation is made publicly available on the Animal Welfare Standards consultation website.

The survey results will be presented in summary form, and as noted above will be considered public documents.

The survey must be lodged by 27 May 2008.  Any submissions received after this date will not be considered.

Please complete the survey below and then hit the submit button at the very end of the survey.  We strongly recommend you print and review your completed survey prior to submitting.  Should you suffer any technical difficulties, you can post your completed form to PO Box 196, DICKSON  ACT  2602 or fax to 07 5429 8486 (Please note: posted submissions compiled in the ACT, faxed submissions compiled in QLD).  We thank you in advance for your participation.
